A huge part of Algeria lies in the Sahara desert. I loved all the rock formations and sand dunes, that almost feel like you’re on a different planet. That’s why I chose to paint a view of the Ahaggar or Hoggar mountains in the south of the country.
I experimented with a very stark contrast in warm and cold colours and I absolutely love the result. Also painting the rocks was so much fun and felt like painting some kind of abstract sculpture.
