Armenia is a mountainous country, but I discovered this amazing valley near the town of Garni, which is full of surreal-looking formations of columnar basalt. I saw a good challenge in that, and admittedly it was kind of hard for me. For about eighty percent of the process, the painting didn’t look too promising and I had to be patient with it. But I still like the result.
